Can Ozempic Cause Pancreatitis?

Ozempic has a possible association with pancreatitis, but a causal link has not been proven. GLP-1 receptor agonists like Ozempic (semaglutide) have been associated with pancreatitis in clinical trials and post-market surveillance. Symptoms include severe abdominal pain that may radiate to the back, nausea, vomiting, and fever. The risk appears higher in patients with a history of pancreatitis, gallstones, high triglycerides, obesity, or heavy alcohol use. If you experience abdominal pain while taking Ozempic, contact your healthcare provider. For severe pain seek immediate medical attention.
