Sperm production occurs continuously. Developing a sperm cell typically takes about 2–3 months, followed by additional maturation and storage in the epididymis. The male reproductive system produces many millions of sperm each day through a process called spermatogenesis. However, sperm reserves in the epididymis mean that ejaculation frequency doesn't immediately impact fertility. Daily ejaculation may reduce semen volume and sperm concentration in some men, although its effects vary and do not necessarily mean that fertility is impaired.
