Reclast (zoledronic acid) is a once-yearly intravenous bisphosphonate prescribed to treat and prevent osteoporosis and reduce the risk of fractures. Get evaluated by a licensed physician from home.
What Is Reclast?
Reclast (zoledronic acid) is a prescription medication used to manage osteoporosis and related bone-loss conditions. It works by inhibiting osteoclast-mediated bone resorption, slowing the breakdown of bone tissue and helping to preserve bone mineral density. With the right dose and ongoing monitoring, most patients can significantly reduce their risk of spine, hip, and other fractures over time.

Is Online Reclast Treatment Right for You?
Reclast is prescribed for adults with osteoporosis, including postmenopausal women and men at high fracture risk, as well as patients with glucocorticoid-induced bone loss or Paget disease of bone. A physician will review your bone density history, recent fracture history, kidney function, and current medications before recommending Reclast.
Because Reclast affects the skeletal and renal systems, your provider will also assess kidney health (creatinine clearance), calcium and vitamin D levels, and any history of hypocalcemia or jaw conditions before prescribing. Patients with adequate hydration and stable kidney function who meet clinical criteria are typically good candidates.

Frequently asked questions
Reclast (zoledronic acid) is approved to treat postmenopausal osteoporosis, osteoporosis in men, glucocorticoid-induced osteoporosis, and Paget disease of bone. It is also used to prevent osteoporosis in postmenopausal women and to reduce fracture risk in patients who have recently had a low-trauma hip fracture.
For osteoporosis treatment, Reclast is administered as a single 5 mg intravenous infusion once per year. For osteoporosis prevention, the dosing interval may be every two years. Your physician will determine the appropriate schedule based on your diagnosis and bone health.
Reclast is given as an intravenous (IV) infusion over at least 15 minutes, typically in an infusion center, clinic, or hospital outpatient setting. It is not a tablet or self-injection. Your Doctronic physician will provide a prescription and guidance on where to receive the infusion.
You should be well-hydrated before your infusion. Your doctor will likely recommend ensuring adequate calcium and vitamin D intake in the days before and after treatment. Patients with low calcium levels need to correct this before receiving Reclast, as hypocalcemia can worsen after the infusion.
The most common side effects are flu-like symptoms that can occur within the first three days after infusion, including fever, fatigue, muscle aches, joint pain, and headache. These symptoms are usually mild to moderate and resolve on their own. Acetaminophen or ibuprofen can help manage them. Serious but rare risks include kidney problems, low calcium, and osteonecrosis of the jaw.
Reclast is contraindicated in patients with severe kidney impairment (creatinine clearance below 35 mL/min) because it is eliminated by the kidneys and can cause acute kidney injury. Your physician will review your kidney function before prescribing and may recommend alternatives if your kidney function is reduced.
Doctronic uses an AI-powered evaluation to gather your health history and symptoms, which is then reviewed by a licensed physician. If treatment is appropriate, the physician creates a personalized treatment plan, which may include a prescription sent to your preferred pharmacy or infusion center.
