Lauren Okafor | MD, The Frank H Netter MD School of Medicine, Loyola University Medical Center
Dr. Okafor is an orthopaedic surgery resident physician and incoming sports medicine fellow at MedStar Health/Georgetown. She earned her M.D. from Quinnipiac University, a Graduate Certificate in Advanced Biomedical Sciences from Georgetown University, and has a B.S. in Psychology from James Madison University. A former professional athlete, she brings firsthand insight into performance, injury, and recovery. Her clinical interests include sports injuries, joint preservation, and evidence-based surgical care. She approaches medicine with precision, accountability, and compassion, prioritizing patient education, shared decision-making, and individualized treatment plans that restore function, optimize longevity, and confidently return patients to the activities that define them.
