What Causes a Curved Penis and is It Normal?

A curved penis can be completely normal; most men hav soeme degree of natural curvature. About 20-30% of men have a noticable curvature that does not cause pain or interfere with function. Mild curves typically develop during puberty as the penis grows at slightly different rates on each side. However, significant curvature that develops in adulthood may indicate Peyronie's disease, a condition affecting 6-10% of men, in which scar tissue forms in the penis, usually after age 40. This can be progressive, cause pain, difficulty with erections, or problems during intercourse. Other causes of abnormal curvature include congenital conditions or previous injuries. If the curvature is more than 30 degrees, painful, or interferes with sexual function, medical evaluation is recommended to determine the underlying cause and discuss treatment options.
